How to make a plain cake

12oz self raising flour - 12oz white sugar - 12oz butter - Ground spice - 6 medium eggs - Oil

8" x 3" baking tin - Electric whisk / Whisk - Greaseproof paper - Kitchen scales - Mixing bowl - Oil brush - Table spoon

Prepare -  preheat the oven to 180°C / 160°C for fan assisted ovens, grease the baking tin with oil using the brush and line with greaseproof paper.

In the mixing bowl, add the ingredients;
Eggs (cracked and whisked).

Butter (scooped using the spoon).
Ground spice - or any spice(s) of your choice.
Whisk until mixture is smooth.
Pour the mixture into the baking tin and smooth it out with the spoon.
Place into the oven and bake for 60 minutes.
Insert a knife down the centre of the cake to see if it's cooked (the knife will come out practically clean - no smudges of mixture/cake) if not, put it back in for another 10 minutes or until cooked.

Once cooked, leave it to cool and enjoy!
